"Where Are Ü Now" is a song produced and performed by American music producers Skrillex and Diplo under their collaborative effort Jack Ü. The song features vocals from Canadian singer Justin Bieber and is the second single from the duo's debut studio album, ''Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü'', on their respective labels OWSLA and Mad Decent and is included on Bieber's fourth album ''Purpose''. It was released simultaneously with the album on February 27, 2015, later impacting mainstream radio on April 21, 2015.
The track has peaked at number eight on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, giving both Skrillex and Diplo their first top 10 single on the chart, also giving Bieber his seventh. Moreover, on July 14, 2015, the song was certified platinum in the U.S. Internationally, the song has peaked within the top 10 of the charts in eight countries, including Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
==Background==
Justin Bieber recorded the track as a piano ballad titled "The Most", produced by Karl Rubin and Jordan Ware, but later decided to send it to Skrillex and Diplo, also known as Jack Ü, to rework it into the track which was later added to their album, titled ''Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack U''.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=New Music: Justin Bieber – "Where Are Ü Now" (Original Version) )〕 The original track was later released as a bonus track on Bieber's fourth studio album, ''Purpose'' (2015) The song features a prominent sound effect that Skillrex has termed "The Dolphin": a chunk of Bieber’s vocal that has been worked over and processed into oblivion, turning into a high-pitched squealing sound during the drop.〔 ''The New York Times'' released a video showing how the song was assembled. Diplo and Skrillex decided to collaborate with Bieber as it would be unexpected.
